Stoke manager Tony Pulis is eager to add Birmingham duo Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome to his squad for 2011/12, but is struggling to agree personal terms with the relegated pair. Sky Sports has reported that the club from the Britannia have agreed a fee with the St Andrews club, but a disagreement over wages may be holding up a prospective double transfer.
Dann in particular has been linked with a move straight back to the Premier League, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all rumoured to have an interest in the 24-year-old, and he may be waiting to see if one of the bigger clubs enter the race for his signature before agreeing a move to Stoke.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that Pullis is set to offer Jonathan Woodgate a pay-as-you-play deal. The 31-year-old has had an injury prone career and was released by Tottenham at the end of the 2010/11 season after playing just four games in two years, and is now unattached. The Stoke boss is rightfully concerned by the ex-England international’s fitness but may offer him a Premier League lifeline. Old club Leeds are also reportedly interested in the defender’s services.
