Die Werkself extended their Bundesliga unbeaten record this weekend against Freiburg thanks to goals from Florian Wirtz, Adam Hlozek and Patrik Schick. They also set a club record for most victories in the Bundesliga in a season after making it 22 wins from 26 league matches for the first time ever, according to OptaFranz.

The win leaves the club in pole position to claim the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich looking set to lose out on top spot first time in over a decade. Leverkusen now have a 10-point gap over the Bavarians with just eight matches remaining in the season.
