TalkSPORT recently reported that Leeds United are interested in signing Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton in the upcoming January transfer window.
A 2017 injury cost Heaton his place as Burnley’s first-choice shot-stopper, as Nick Pope seized his opportunity to establish himself as No.1 at Turf Moor. The arrival of Joe Hart has since pushed Heaton even further down the Clarets’ pecking order.

The 32-year-old has proved in the past that he is a top class ‘keeper though, and far too good to fritter away any more of his career playing back-up.
A move would be the best thing for the three-cap England man at this stage in his career, but Leeds should not be given the chance to land their target without a fight. The Whites’ fellow Championship outfit Aston Villa would also be wise to enter the race for Heaton’s signature.
If Dean Smith is to lead the Villans on a charge for promotion then he ought to improve his options between the sticks, and Heaton’s arrival would certainly provide him with an upgrade on current stopper Orjan Nyland.
