Liverpool fans on Twitter have been calling for youngster Bobby Duncan to be called up to the first team squad after he scored twice and provided one assist in the FA Youth Cup win over Portsmouth U18s.
The 17-year-old striker was only signed this summer from the Manchester City academy, but he has been on fire this season for the youth teams on Merseyside. In fact, Duncan has now racked up an incredible 19 goals in all competitions.
The young Scouser is the cousin of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and many Liverpool fans are already predicting big things for Duncan, although he will have to go some way to match the acheivements of his family member at Anfield.
It’s clear though that Reds fans want him to get started as soon as possible, with plenty calling for him to be promoted to the first team by Jurgen Klopp. The German boss has proven that he is not afraid to bring in young players when he feels they are ready, and his use of Trent Alexander-Arnold in particular has been inspired.
With a clear path to the first team proven by the young right-back, those such as Duncan in Liverpool’s academy can dream of that debut at Anfield.
